This article will help you get started with the Blink app and setting up your new Blink account.

The latest version of the Blink app is always available in your app store. Blink supports most smartphones, tablets, and many Alexa-enabled products.

Create a Blink account

To get started with the Blink app, follow the instructions below:

With Blink, you have one user account with one email and one phone number. On log in and certain other actions, a verification number is sent to the mobile number or email address of the account.

Note:If you want to share your account with other users, learn more about setting up a second phone or device.

  1. Launch the Blink App and tap Create Account at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select your country from the drop-down menu and tap Next.
  3. Your region is pre-selected based on your IP address. Confirm your region and tap OK.
  4. Enter a valid email address, and tap Next.
  5. Create a password and tap Create Account. The password requirements are listed at the bottom of the screen. Tap the eyeball icon if you want to view what you are typing.
  6. Complete the multi-factor authentication (MFA) process. Learn more about multi-factor authentication.

Verify your email address

Enter the PIN from the email we sent you and tap Verify.

  • PIN codes are valid for 40 minutes.
  • If you haven't received the code after 90 seconds, tap Resend PIN Code.

Verify your phone number

Tap the phone number entry line to bring up a keypad.
Enter the phone number you wish to use for device verification and tap Next.

Optional: Select your country code by tapping the flag icon next to the phone number entry line.

If you prefer to not use SMS, the PIN code can be read to you by an automated voice call.
To choose this option, under Receive code by: select Voice call and tap Next.

Note

The SMS text option is for use with mobile phones and will not work with landline phone numbers. Blink uses this number to associate your device with the Blink app to ensure the person making changes is you. Your information is private and will not be used for any additional purposes or shared with third parties.

A SMS text message containing the PIN code is sent to the phone number, and you are shown another PIN entry screen.

Enter the PIN from the SMS text message we sent you and tap Verify.

  • PIN codes are valid for 40 minutes.
  • If you haven't received the code after 90 seconds, tap Resend PIN Code.

Link your Blink and Amazon accounts

When the phone verification step is complete, you are prompted to link your new Blink account to your Amazon account by tapping Link Accounts. If you don't want to link your account, select Skipto be sent to the Home screen without linking your accounts.

Note:This is an optional step, but we highly recommend linking your accounts at this time. Learn more about the benefits of linking your accounts.

Sign into your existing Amazon account. You will need to know your Amazon login email address and password. Once the link is established between accounts, tap Done.

Why can't I create a Blink account? ›

Creating a Blink account requires a verification code number that is sent to the account email address. Check your mobile phone or device settings because Blink messages may have been marked as spam or blocked. SMS text messages do not work with landlines.

How do I add another account to my Blink app? ›

You can invite anyone with a company, or personal, email address or mobile number through the Admin Portal. Emails and mobile numbers are unique to each account. Once an account has been invited it can be reinvited at any time but only once per hour.

Can I delete my Blink account and start over? ›

Note: Once your account has been deleted, you can create a new Blink account using the same email address at any time.

Can I use Blink without an account? ›

Is a Blink Subscription Plan required to use my Blink products? No. Your Blink products provide their standard features (such as motion alerts, live view, and two-way audio) without any subscription. Blink Subscription Plans offer additional features for those who want them.

Can 2 people have access to Blink app? ›

Yes, each family member can download the Blink app to their iOS or Android device. Using the same account login information, each family member can access your Blink account on their mobile device. This allows the entire household to receive notifications and view systems.

Can I switch my Blink camera to another account? ›

If your equipment is not deleted from your account, the new owner will not be able to add it to their Blink account. Once the devices are deleted from your Blink account, they are no longer associated with your email address. Note: Deleting your Blink account is optional.

Can you have two different houses on one Blink account? ›

You can monitor 2 different houses with a single account. Each locations needs to have their sync module. If you have 2 sync modules, you will see both names at the top of the app. You'll get notifications for both locations.

What if my Blink camera is already registered to another account? ›

Check your other Blink account and any other systems to see if the device is listed. If it is, you must delete that device from that account. Once it's deleted, you can re-add it to the appropriate Blink account.

You can only have one username/email address and password per account however, you can download our app to as many compatible iOS, Android and Amazon Fire devices as you'd like, so the entire household can receive alerts or check in at home.

If your Blink Sync Module is already registered, the only way to settle it would be to remove the last account: If the last account is linked to someone else (e.g., the Blink Sync Module was gifted), get in touch with the previous owner and kindly ask them to remove the device from their Blink Home Monitor app.

If you are attempting to sign into your Blink account through the app and you see an Invalid Credentials message, this could mean that: The email address you entered in may be mistyped. You used a different email address when you created your account. Your password was entered incorrectly.

Restart your device, or try switching the Wi-Fi setting off and on again to establish a connection. Make sure your mobile device is within range of your router or access point. Check that your router and any access points are powered on. Restarting your Wi-Fi router may also resolve this issue.

There must be a valid payment method in your Amazon account. If you do not have a valid payment method in your Amazon account, you can't purchase or attach a Blink subscription plan. You can access and manage your payment methods on the Your Payments page of your Amazon account.

All Blink account holders have the option to link their Blink accounts to their Amazon accounts. Linking to an Amazon account will allow you to see and manage all of your Blink Subscription Plans in one place, along with the ability to activate Blink Subscription Plans through Amazon.
