I have had so much fun making drinks for myself and my kids. You can make these alcoholic or nonalcoholic depending on your needs. They taste good either way! I made three different drinks that can be made for kids or for adults. You can spice it up or play it down for kids.
Here’s the Valentine’s Day drinks recipes for adults and children.
The first one I did was for kids.
The ingredients in this drink for kids was: watermelon kool aid, sugar, lemon lime and ice. I made the kool aid up in a pitcher ( 1 pack of koolaid, 1 cup of sugar and 2 quarts of water). I then did half and half lemon lime and kool aid. It was bubbly and very tasty. The kids loved it and would feel so special having this as their dinner drink on Valentine’s Day. Put it in a nice wine glass and they would feel special on a day filled with love.
The adult drinks were next. The first one I made was the strawberry margarita spritzer. The recipe was:
1 shot of rum
1/8 cup of strawberry margarita mix
6 oz of lemon lime
Add crushed ice and enjoy! This was yummy. I do not like a lot of alcohol in mine. You can adjust this as needed. But if alcohol is tasted in my drink I almost can’t drink it.
My second drink for adults I made was made like the kids drink. I made a watermelon rum mixer.
For this I used the kool aid I had already made (about 4 oz).
To that I added a shot of rum (0r 2 depending on your tastes) , lemon lime soda (4 oz) and crushed ice.
This tasted really yummy too. I just needed the little umbrella while I was drinking it. Oh and a pool boy. Who doesn’t need an umbrella drink and a pool boy?
Making special Valentine’s Day Drinks is fun for you and the kids.

Great ideas for drinks! And if you are worried about your kid breaking your wine glasses, you could always go out and buy some plastic ones at a party store. That way they can still feel fancy and you cane keep your glasses in tact. 🙂

This will go over real well in my house. We often mix kool-aid with lemon lime pop because it actually saves money… we cut down on using the sugar because of the sugar in the pop, and don’t have to buy it as often… We can get a 3 liter of pop for $1.
