Cat Deeley has spoken candidly about her marriage on This Morning, revealing that she and her husband Patrick Kielty have a surprising sleeping arrangement.

The presenter host told how she often sleeps in the guest bedroom but explained that there's a good reason behind the set-up.

Cat is now well settled into her morning show gig which is based in London after taking up the role earlier this year following Holly Willoughby's departure while Patrick is a season into his time as host of the Late Late show in Ireland.

Explaining why the couple sleep in different bedrooms during the week, Cat said: 'It's one of those things that because of our schedule here [on This Morning], from Monday to Thursday I sleep in the guest bedroom and the rest of the time I'm back.'

'Because otherwise I get up at 5am and I want to fall asleep earlier', the 47-year-old added in the conversation with her co-host Ben Shephard, guest Linda Lusardi,and a married couple Emma and Kevin who share Cat's sentiment.

Down native Patrick, 53, married Cat in 2012, and the couple share two sons, Milo, eight, and James, five.

The family had been living in a Beverly Hills mansion, reportedly worth €4.46 million, while Cat hosted the popular show, So You Think You Can Dance US, but moved back to England after Patrick and Milo were caught up in a gun scare in Los Angeles.

For most of this year, Patrick has been travelling between his family in London and Dublin to host the Late Late Show every Friday.

Now that the show has finished for the summer, we're sure the family are making the most of the extra evening together!
